How It Works

Whether you are a seasoned performer or hoping to take your first steps on stage, Cambrian Players welcomes you!

During your audition, you may be provided with a selection of monologues to choose from. This allows the director to hear you and picture where you may fit in the script.

You’ll then have an opportunity for a “cold read” (no preparation required!) of a section of the show script. You may be paired with other auditionees, or volunteer readers, or even the stage manager, to read a few pages of dialogue.

open auditions

Cambrian Players is pleased to announce that open auditions will be held for their upcoming production of HOME, I’M DARLING written by Laura Wade and directed by Andrew Paulsen.
The play will be performed evenings March 6-8 and March 12-15, with a Sunday Matinee March 9, 2025.
ABOUT THE PLAY:
The 2019 Oliver Award winner for Best New Comedy, Home, I’m Darling, is a fun comedy/drama with a central mystery at its heart. Living like they are in the 50s, a couple slowly reveals how they created this world in their home, as they are actually living in the 21st century, and this is an agreed-upon arrangement. It’s easy to romanticize the past, but what is the cost of maintaining this image of marital bliss? Maybe some things are better left behind?
Home, I’m Darling explores interesting gender dynamics, our too-often rose-tinted view of the past, and what is learned—and lost—when we move forward. It’s a beautiful look at modern relationships that ultimately is hopeful but asks the central question: “How happy are the happily married?”
AUDITIONS will be held at the Cambrian Players Theatre at 818 Spring Street, on :
✔ Saturday, November 23rd from 1pm – 5pm
✔ Monday, November 25th from 6pm – 9pm
✔ Tuesday, November 26th from 6pm – 9pm
Performers with the ability to play ages 20 to 45+ encouraged to audition. A full breakdown of characters can be found on the audition form.
