How It Works

Whether you are a seasoned performer or hoping to take your first steps on stage, Cambrian Players welcomes you!

During your audition, you may be provided with a selection of monologues to choose from. This allows the director to hear you and picture where you may fit in the script.

You’ll then have an opportunity for a “cold read” (no preparation required!) of a section of the show script. You may be paired with other auditionees, or volunteer readers, or even the stage manager, to read a few pages of dialogue.

ABOUT THE PLAY: Ever wondered what would happen if you took Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale and put it into a blender with Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and The 39 Steps? DRACULA, A COMEDY OF TERRORS is a Bram-new comedy you can really sink your teeth into. Filled with clever wordplay and anything-goes pop culture references, it’s a 90-minute, gender-bending, quick-changing, laugh-out-loud reimagining of the gothic classic, perfect for audiences of all blood types.

When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed female vampire hunter Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Their hunt for the dangerous (and sexy) Count Dracula abounds with clever wordplay and quick-change antics.

*Please note: This play deals with some adult themes, including sexuality, mental health, and violence.

The play will be performed evenings November 13-15 and 19-22, with a Sunday Matinee November 16, 2025.
