Cast

Derian Miskimins Dracula Derian has never been to the Carpathian mountains, but you might have seen him as Ted in Nocturnal Evaluations (10x10 Short Play Festival), Creon in Antigone (The Actor's Studio), or the head cop Sam and the head of the Moose in Moosef**ker, Ontario (New Noise Productions). Oh, and, watch out- he bites.
Chris Servais Harker Chris only began participating in theatre earlier this year, but he's definitely caught the bug. This will be his first experience on-stage, and he's excited to take a bite out of Dracula, alongside the rest of this talented cast and crew. Thanks to all involved, and to everyone who comes to see the show!
Jessie Kajorinne Dr. Westfeldt / Renfield / Ensemble Jessie is excited to make her return to Cambrian Players in this hilarious show with this outstanding cast. She is a pharmacist with a passion for theatre and dance. Previous roles include Angie the Ox in Applauze Productions' 'Guys and Dolls' (June/25), Inga in Badanai Theatre's 'Young Frankenstein' (Feb/25), and Velma Kelly in Applauze Productions' 'Chicago' (June/24). She is looking forward to playing Sally Bowles in the upcoming Badanai Theatre production of 'Cabaret' (Feb/26). Jessie can't wait to bring her characters (plural!) to life and hopes you enjoy the show! Jessie thanks her family, friends, and partner for their endless support. Life is short - do theatre!
Zoe Clara Lucy / Ensemble Zoe has been performing since they were 3, and is ecstatic to be making their Cambrian main stage debut. She has been in the ensemble of Applauze's Guys and Dolls, Officer Klein in Cambrian's staged reading of Arsenic and Old Lace, and was killed 11 times a night for multiple years of Haunted Fort Night. As a lover of vampires, stupid comedy, and gay stuff, she is honoured to get to help bring this show to life and work with such a phenomenal team.
Ken Horton Mina / Dr. Van Helsing Ken is thrilled to be in this ensemble cast! An improvisor, actor, singer, director and stand-up comic (3rd in the Walleye's "Best of Thunder Bay"). Most recently performing as "Rowlf" in the Muppet Script and "Nathan Detroit" in Guys and Dolls. He's the proud single father of 2 adult artists.
Ruth Currie Kitty / Driver / Ensemble Ruth is excited to be back on stage during Cambrian's 76th season! When she is not rehearsing her lines, Ruth works part time with the Dental Hygiene Clinic at Confederation College. You may have seen her in Cambrian's A Christmas Carol and Little Women. She is enjoying working with such a hilarious cast and amazing crew and director!
Jarin Brown Havemercy / Captain / Ensemble This is Jarin's fourth production at Cambrian Players, all of which have been some form of literary adaptation. It's been a while since he's read Dracula, but he's pretty sure this show is exactly the same as the book.
Austin Campbell aka Hamish Tabernathy Cavendish / Bosun / Ensemble Once bitten, fifth show! Austin is delighted to share the stage with so many talented cast and crew members for what is now his fifth show with Cambrian Players. He was last seen on the Cambrian stage as Johnny Martin in "Home, I'm Darling!" - and recently made his Magnus Theatre debut in "Bigfoot". He would like to thank his soulmate, Maranda, for being a light in this world and his life; Cambrian Players for being a one-of-a-kind theatre family; and garlic, for its deliciousness and anti-vampiric qualities.
Christine Kempton Worthington / Gravedigger / Ensemble Christine was born and raised right here in Thunder Bay. She has only participated in the theatre as a patron in the recent past. She hasn't graced the stage in a very long time, except as a dancer and member of Zorya Ukrainian Dance. She is thrilled to be a part of this production of Dracula and is looking forward to gracing the Cambrian stage.

Production Team

Maranda Dumas Director Maranda is over the moon to be directing Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors as her mainstage directorial debut with Cambrian Players. Often found lurking various theatres looking for a bite - I mean, bit - she was last seen on the Cambrian Stage in Of Marriage Minded Misses and more recently in Magnus Theatre's 10x10 in Double Blind.
As a new director, Maranda has been blown away time and again by the incredible work this cast, crew, and designers have put in to bring this production to life (or un-death?). She wants to thank the entire team, seen and unseen, who shared their talents, skills, and enthusiasm over these past months; she could not have done it without every one of you. Special shout-outs to her right-hand women, Sheena and Emily; her mentor, Nathalie; and to her soulmate, Austin.
Sheena Larson Assistant Director Sheena has been on stage, backstage and written for the stage, too! Recent work includes acting and writing plays during the 10x10 Play Festival, as well as managing the stage for a few Cambrian productions. If you shared even one of our promotional posts on Facebook, she says thank you! Congratulations to Maranda, the fang-tastic cast, and the production team on bringing this story to life. Lovely jubbly!
Emily Sousa Stage Manager This is Emily's third show with Cambrian and her first as a stage manager. She is very excited to work with this cast and crew on the second hottest vampire media, next to Twilight.
Nico Harding Assistant Stage Manager A seasoned gremlin of chaos and no stranger to this stage, it's Nico's first time behind the Cambrian curtain so to speak. As the ASM their job is quite simple, animal wrangler, crypt cleaner, coffin dresser and occasionally human blood bag! Wishing you all a fang-tastic show!
Nathalie Roy Production Mentor
Katie Maki Production & Publicity Management Lead Katie has been a member of the Production & Publicity Management Team since its creation, but was excited to step back into the lead role for the first time since producing for Vanya, Sonia, Masha, and Spike a few seasons ago! She is thankful to the team for their help and support, and cannot wait to see the actors bring the show to life - or un-death?
Jessica Krasnichuk Intimacy Coordinator Jessica is honoured to be the Intimacy Coordinator for Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors. Switching hats from being the Musical Director from last season's A Year With Frog and Toad, she has welcomed the opportunity to help guide the more intimate moments with the cast. She has been involved in theatre as an actor/singer/dancer/instructor and administrator for many years. Thank you to Maranda for entrusting her with the more delicate moments, the cast and crew for all of their amazing work and to Scott and Harper for giving her the time to nourish her creative soul.
Aleksa Shermak with Scott Legros Sound Design Aleksa is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, arts educator, and Artistic Director of EDCT in Thunder Bay. Passionate about creating layered theatrical worlds, she loves to blend visual arts, movement, music, sound and emotion to craft immersive atmospheres. She's thrilled to join her first Cambrian production, supporting this incredible show as Sound Designer.
Ken Horton with Raunak Singh and Daniel "Rourkie" O'Rourke Lighting Design Ken also did the lighting design. He is honoured to work with Raunak and Rourkie who helped assemble the lighting for this show and bring Maranda's brilliant vision to light. The proud single father of 2 adult artists, Emily and Eaden, he's adopted as dad by another. Enjoy the show!
Julie MacCoy Costume Design When not raiding closets and thrift shops for spooky delights, Julie MacCoy conjures costumes with enough drama to make even Dracula blush. For Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, she promises more lace, capes, and leather pants?! than a Transylvanian yard sale! Thank you to Maranda for letting me play gothic dressup and to my friends and family for understanding my need to be at the theatre always! This one is for you, kid ❤️
Nicholas Palinka Set Design Nicholas is ecstatic to be designing for the Cambrian stage! Having designed for stages across Canada, he is always excited to work at home in Thunder Bay, a place we all can't shake when we leave.
Nicholas would like to thank all the volunteers who brought these drawings to life. Bryan, Jerry, Jessica, Austin, Dan, Chris, Julie and Maranda, thank you for your time and skills to create this set! KUDOS to everyone on the show!
Bryan Davis Set Construction Bryan loves to build things, especially things that come alive as much as this set! Big thanks to everyone at Cambrian for letting me be a part of these magical things we call shows <3
Ariana McLean Props Design Countess Ariana is thrilled to return to Cambrian Players in her most diabolical role yet: bloodthirsty prop manager. She extends eternal thanks to Kristie, Sam, and Skyler for their creative work in bringing her to life (again), and humbly apologizes for turning them into prop-hunting, trash-taping, food-sculpting ghouls. She sends endless love to her partner Cole, who selflessly endures her wild spirit and has accepted a life surrounded by puppets, props, and a constant trail of dropped safety pins. Her creative enthusiasm is, now and always, dedicated to her son River; her sun, moon and stars, the light of her life... and afterlife.
Skyler J.A. Duggan Props Team Skyler J.A. Duggan is a Performing and Media Artist who has been working on community arts projects in Thunder Bay since he graduated with a Music Industry Arts Diploma from Algonquin College in 2017.
Skyler regularly performs with Rock Bands in the downtown Music Scene and has been working toward becoming a regular talent in the Theatre Scene since his debut in 2022 on the Magnus stage during the 10x10 Festival.
Mary Davis Poster Design When she's not chewing the scenery (*burp*), Mary has been the designer behind every Cambrian Players mainstage production poster since the 2017/2018 season. While she has her favourites, each one holds a place in her heart - from screen printing 100 pieces of canvas for Treasure Island, to the optical illusion of Vino Veritas, to a retro movie poster for Sleuth. From now on, she plans to put googly eyes on everything. Her latest big project was design and layout for the Cambrian Players 75th Anniversary Yearbook. Limited quantities still available for sale! Ask your friendly ticket taker for details.

Greenberg co-wrote and directed the Broadway stage adaptation of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn at Studio 54 for Roundabout Theatre Company, Universal Pictures Stage Productions and PBS Television's Great Performances. In its review, Variety said "Holiday Inn, the 1942 film, has gotten a complete and first-class stage redo...Director Gordon Greenberg and co-writer Chad Hodge have significantly rethought, reshaped and revitalized the script, giving the show more heart, a modern sensibility and a joyful spirit." Deadline called it "an endorphin assault, inducing warm bath pleasure like no other show since 42nd Street," The Hollywood Reporter called it "pure joy," and the Star Ledger said "directed with generosity and warmth, it wears down all defenses."
